Congratulations the Big Dreams and More Card is right for you!

So, if we assume that dreams are free then why do we pay so much.

This site focuses on ideas about the credit card industry but these are not the only organizations that convince us to spend more then we earn. Big dreams are important but where do they come from? Perhaps you are one of those people that has a well paying job and plenty to spend? Perhaps you don't but like to spend anyway? Maybe you live with that unspoken guilt most of us share about mismanaging money?

Personal income hasn't risen as much as the average debt load has in the last twenty years. There are great advertising promises made to us that we deserve as much as we can get. Companies keep guaranteeing us more goods and services. A famous line from the movie Fight Club directed by David Fincher goes like this, "We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."

Are you conscious or unconscious of the corporate influences of marketing and public relation campaigns? Regardless, it isn't unusual for us to be uneducated about the effects of corporations on our daily lives. Only individuals and small groups can lead this education.

Excerpt: By analogy, you might think that consumers were saying, "I'd really like to owe a whole bunch more than I can afford, so that I can declare bankruptcy." There's a reason you don't hear anyone saying those words: It's because credit has been so easy to get that we've managed to inflate people's ideas of how much they can take on. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,143037,00.html

Excerpt: Creditors recognise some people will never be able to repay their debt and make provision for 'bad debt'. Some debts are written off, although creditors are reluctant to do so. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3167473.stm

Video Nation is a selection of shorts exploring the subject of debt. Most of us will have some form of debt during our lives and some of us will have difficulty clearing that debt. http://www.bbc.co.uk/videonation/feature/heybigspender
